The Beginning

So I pretty much only have this blog for when I go to Greece cause let's be real, that's the only interesting thing that I could even post about on here. But I thought I'd get a jump start! We leave in approximately 4 months and two weeks for Porto Rafti, Greece where I'll be living for three whole months!! Looking at the calendar, this semester is just going to fly by. We have already started having our HUG (Harding University in Greece) Bible study at Professor Ken Neller's house, our first meeting is the 13th of September and I am basically going to have a conniption fit because I am ready to be at the Artemis-the old hotel we live in while we are at school there. Hearing Prof Neller talk about what we do was nearly too much to handle Wednesday night, although I felt like Julie, Blair and I were the only ones who were pumped up about it.

This is what I have gathered so far about the trip: A) It is amazing...well duh. B) You should DEFINITELY work in the kitchen because it is great fun and you get to make money for free travel! (Unless you are reading this and plan on going to Greece in Spring 2012...then you should do gardening or something else cause its awful to work kitchen in the spring O.o) C) We spend just over a week in Egypt gawking at the Pyramids. D) We get to take a cruise ship down the NILE RIVER. Yep, that's right. Cruising down the Nile. You know, kind of like Baby Moses. Number 5- Its pretty much going to be the coolest thing that ever happens to me.

Although money is kind of a stressor right now, I finally got a job working admissions-which is only ten hours a week but its ten hours of work more than I had last week. Plus as foolish as it may be, I will do anything including taking out a loan in order to fulfill this journey. So if you are reading this, please please pray for me and the rest of the group as we get ready to embark on this once in a lifetime trip. And please say a little extra prayer that I can get enough money to handle it all.

Oh and another thing I am super excited about: for those of you who know me, I love photography. May not be the best at it, but it is relaxing and exciting for me especially since I got my Rebel for Christmas last year. But I will be taking a photography class in Greece. For one, its a photography class, so I am so excited to finally get to take one! And for another, I will be adventuring around Europe with my camera, a new lens and new found photography knowledge! Be prepared to be wowed. That's really arrogant, I don't actually mean it that way. Ha. I am just really excited about my Grecian Photography class! But hopefully I will be able to share a bunch of really cool, interesting, excited, or at the least colorful, pictures with you starting in January.

Until then, keep praying!

HUG Spring 2012!
